Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China is one of the most iconic structures in the world and was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a global poll conducted in 2007 by the New7Wonders Foundation. Originally built to protect Chinese states and empires against invasions, the wall spans over 21,000 kilometers and dates back as far as the 7th century BC, with much of the current structure built during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).
It’s not just a wall—it’s a symbol of China's strength, resilience, and rich history. Contrary to popular myth, it’s not visible from space with the naked eye, but it remains one of the greatest feats of ancient and modern engineering.
